A seemingly ordinary village hides dozens of mysterious places waiting to be discovered - hidden waterfalls, rock regiments, viewpoints, and trails.
As the residents say (those with long experience), this neighborhood will never get bored.
What would a Norwegian landscape be without waterfalls? We will not answer because the waterfalls are Norddal’s showcase. They make the greatest impression in Spring when the snow starts to melt – tons of water falls spectacularly from the rocks. From the village, you can see two of them, a bit further the next ones are enchanting. Others are hidden like treasures in Alice’s Wonderland. Whoever finds them, will certainly not forget that view, because it will literally take the breath away – this is our village secret.

Dyrdalsfossen is a number one waterfall in Norddal. In winter, it turns into a blue massive block of ice with a calm river below. In spring, during the thaw, it starts a spectacular performance, throwing tons of water from a height of 220 meters, creating a spray zone that makes a special microclimate for endemic plant species. Sunnmørsk Marikåpe was discovered there and it was entered on the red list of protected species.
