A seemingly ordinary village hides dozens of mysterious places waiting to be discovered - hidden waterfalls, rock regiments, viewpoints, and trails.
As the residents say (those with long experience), this neighborhood will never get bored.
Winter is the perfect time for outdoor activities. Norddal and the surrounding area offers specially prepared cross-country trails, and off-road wild deep powder runs.
Pack your skis, take your friends or family with you and head to the Hatlestad just above the village of Norddal. From here you can take about 7 km long trail. The trail follows to the Rellingsetra farm. About halfway you get a great view of the village and Norddalfjord. At the end of the track, you will find the old ski cabin where you can take some rest. In the area of Rellingsetra, there may also be several routes that are prepared if the weather permits. For example, you can take a trip to Hatlestadsetra or Storvatnet.
On the way to Herdalssetra.
If you are a fan of ski touring and off-trail riding, you can take off the track and try your hand at the nearby hills where snow is always available in winter.
There are also two other beautiful cross-country trails within a 20-minute drive of Norddal. One of them starts from the parking lot in Korsmyra just off the main route to Geiranger. The second one starts from Løvoll in neighboring Eidsdal.
For lovers of downhill skiing, there is a large ski resort in Stranda. It takes around one hour to reach it from Norddal and will have to take two ferry crossings along the way. However, the slightly longer trip is worth it. The resort has well-prepared cross-country skiing trails and ski lifts, which will allow you to quickly enjoy skiing in a truly alpine atmosphere.
